Public areas demand significantly higher requirements from furnishings. Due to the numerous adverse conditions, constant outdoor use, often without maintenance, and occasional exposure to vandalism, specific constructions are required. Volker Weiss has gained experience in this field since furnishing the outdoor area of the (then) New Trade Fair in Leipzig in 1994. His material of choice is steel with the best possible corrosion protection of hot-dip galvanization. The surface is often additionally powder-coated. Furthermore, solid components made of natural stone or concrete have proven to be effective.
